School of Health and Human Sciences

Congratulations to two UNCG Gerontology stars who will receive Alumni Awards from the UNCG School of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) in April 2015!

  • Brittany Singhas, MS in Gerontology/MBA will be awarded a HHS Pacesetter’s Award.  Singhas graduated with a dual degree MS/MBA and quickly accepted a position as Davidson County Tennessee Regional Coordinator as well as Service Coordinator at the Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency.  Today Singhas is Project Manager at the MedStar Institute for Innovation in Washington, DC.
  • Vira Kivett, PhD, HDFS Professor Emeritus, will receive the HHS Lifetime Legacy Award.   Dr. Kivett earned a PhD in Child Development and Family Relations in 1976, a BS (1955), a MS (1960) in Home Economics Education at Woman’s College, and was the first faculty member to engage in aging research at UNCG.

Awards will be presented at the HHS Alumni Awards reception on April 11, 2015 at 6:00 pm in Cone Ballroom.
